Privacy

This page says what we collect, why, and who else sees it. It is short because we collect little.

What we collect, and why

To send you a parcel — your name, phone number, delivery address and, if you give one, your email. We cannot deliver spice to a person we cannot name or find.

To take payment — nothing. Your card number, UPI PIN and bank details never touch our server. Payment happens inside Razorpay's own window; they tell us only whether it worked and give us a payment reference.

To answer you — whatever you write to us on WhatsApp or by email, kept as long as the conversation is useful.

To run the shop — your order history, so we can look up an order when you ring about it.

We do not collect anything about you that we do not use. There is no profile of you being built here.

Who else sees it

• The courier — your name, address and phone, because that is a delivery label.
• Razorpay — what they need to take the payment, under their own privacy policy.
• Our email and messaging providers — to deliver a receipt or an alert.

Nobody else. We do not sell customer lists, we do not rent them, and we do not pass your number to anyone who wants to sell you something.

Analytics

If analytics are switched on for this site, we use Google Analytics and, for advertising measurement, the Meta pixel. They record anonymous things: which pages were viewed, which products were looked at, whether an order was completed, roughly which country you are in.

They do not receive your name, address or phone number. Scripts load only after you have interacted with the page or after a few seconds, so they never slow down the first thing you see.

If you would rather not be measured at all, your browser's "do not track" or an ad blocker will stop it, and nothing on this site will break.

Cookies

Three kinds, all necessary:

• your basket, kept in your own browser so it survives a refresh
• a session cookie if you are a member of the house signing in to the admin
• whatever the analytics above set, when they are switched on

No advertising cookies are set by us.

How long we keep things

Orders and invoices: as long as the law requires us to keep business records, which in India is several years. Messages: as long as they are useful. Anything else: until it stops being needed.

Your rights

Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will, except where we are legally required to keep a record of a sale that happened. Write to us at the address on the contact page, or message the WhatsApp number.

Children

This is a shop for people who cook. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything about them.

Changes

If this page changes we will change the date below rather than quietly rewrite it.
